These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the WCAG Auditor Chrome Extension ("Extension", "we", "our", or "us"). By installing or using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Extension.


1. Purpose

WCAG Auditor is a browser extension designed to help users test websites for accessibility issues in accordance with the WCAG 2.1 standards. Features include automated scanning (via axe-core), manual testing checklists, accessibility tools, and integrations with third-party services such as Atlassian Jira and Stripe.


2. User Data & Privacy

Your use of the Extension is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

  • We do not collect or store personal data, browsing history, or website content.
  • Data used for Jira integration or Stripe billing is either handled locally in your browser or via secure third-party services.
  • A secure proxy server is used only for the OAuth authorization step to obtain your Jira access token. No user tokens or data are stored on this server.

3. Premium Features & Payments

Some features of the Extension require a paid license. These are managed through Stripe via ExtPay.js, a secure client-side library.

  • Payment processing is handled solely by Stripe, and we do not store or have access to your payment information.
  • License data is stored locally and verified through Stripe's secure API.

4. Third-Party Services

The Extension integrates with third-party platforms, including:

  • Atlassian Jira – to create issues and attach audit data
  • Stripe – for managing subscriptions

Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.


5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Extension to:

  • Access, monitor, or collect data from websites without proper authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of websites or systems
  • Circumvent or misuse any access controls, rate limits, or authorization processes
  • Reverse engineer, copy, or distribute the Extension's code or services without permission

6. Modifications and Updates

We may update the Extension, its features, or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Extension after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the changes.


7. Disclaimer of Warranty

The Extension is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that audits or test results are complete, accurate, or sufficient for legal compliance.


8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Extension, including but not limited to accessibility compliance failures, data loss, or third-party service interruptions.
